“Learning is all over the place”
Learning is all over the place. For me learning never stops.
For Karam, a 26-year-old software developer from Khartoum, the necessity to constantly learn is clear. In a fast-moving industry, 6 months of non-active learning is all you need to have your skills become outdated. For him this isn’t daunting, it’s simply the new normal. As a newcomer to Paris, in a mere two years, he learned French, new social codes, a new way of life. And even though he may be done with his university studies for now, for Karam, the world will continue to be his classroom for life.
The rapid speed of learning and upskilling isn’t unique to the tech industry. As the Future of Work becomes the opportunities of tomorrow, all employees and entrepreneurs, regardless of their origins, will be required to become lifelong learners.
