Why

PLACE?

MIGRATION IS A CHANCE
FOR OUR SOCIETIES TO REACH
THEIR FULL POTENTIAL.

So how can we create the best conditions for people who arrive in Europe to be innovators, in a position to act and create value ?

KARAM MOHAMMED

Karam was born in Sudan and moved to Dubai during his primary school years. He returned to Sudan for high school, and then went on to study Software Engineering in Malaysia.

After graduating in 2013, he worked as a freelancer in web design and development in Kuala Lumpur. Karam arrived in France in 2016, and has since been working on his French. He came to PLACE to do what he enjoys – working in teams, meeting and collaborating with others to develop solutions. With a passion for sports, food and new places.

“I hope to share my knowledge and co-create with others.”

SOUSANA ALKILANI

Sousana is from Damascus, where she got some of the baggage she now has: an MBA, a diploma in English literature, experience in the airline and health industries, and digital modernization of public services. She arrived in France in 2015..

Her energy is contagious:
“I want to further develop my skills and put them towards something meaningful by developing a project.”

She hopes her first-hand experience of some of the challenges newcomers face in France can be the source of creativity for her to imagine new solutions.

Sousana enjoys reading, swimming and travelling.

PLACE

wants to lead migrant-led innovation in practice.

How ?

By running innovation labs where people have a chance to create products and services in response to their needs, and sharing the results of these labs with a wide public.

PLACE is led by a

European collective of PLACEmakers.

PLACE provides newcomers to European cities and people from the host civil societies with the opportunities to create amazing products and services in response to challenges they face.
