When Duaa left her architecture studies in Sudan to come to France, she knew she was a taking a risk. The risk of having to start all over again.Â
With an ear to the ground and a supportive network, she achieved the seemingly impossible: picking up where she left off and keeping her studies in pace with her growing career ambitions.Â
In the fall of 2019, Duaa took part in PLACE’s storytelling program, My Image, My Story – where she reappropriated her story and was able to start navigating the opportunities available to her in France.Â
Today she is studying full time and sharing her experience to support other young newcomers realize their full potential.Â
